What is the difference between Tendo Unit and Tendo Unit – WL?2020-05-17T17:25:59+00:00

Both Tendo Unit and Tendo Unit – WL measure and calculate the same parameters.

However, Tendo Unit and Tendo Unit – WL use different Sensor Units. Unlike the Tendo Unit sensor, Tendo Unit – WL sensor has extra sensor protection against the dropping barbell. The sensor protection is, therefore, making the WL sensor more durable and suitable for Olympic lift exercises.

The Tendo Unit – WL also offers a possibility to attach the sensor unit string safely on a special waist belt and measure leg’s power and velocity without positive influences of the back extension, i.e. it gives you the possibility to use the Tendo JumpMat.

This makes Tendo Unit – WL more versatile but bigger in size in comparison with standard Tendo Unit.

What is a Filter?2019-04-02T14:04:37+00:00

The filter is a movement threshold.

It is a distance from 0 (start position) to the setting value of filter, e.g. 30 cm, within which the microcomputer does not display any measurement. If you perform an exercise with a range of motion shorter than filter value (30 cm) e.g. 25 cm, the microcomputer does not show you the result. But if the displacement is longer than filter value (filter 30cm), e.g. 35cm, the microcomputer displays this repetition.

The reason of the filter is to filter out unwanted movements, e.g. taking the barbell from the rack to the starting position etc.

Do I need to change the Filter value?2019-04-02T14:08:42+00:00

The reason to use the filter (movement threshold) is to filter out undesirable movements. For example, when the barbell is taken from a rack to a starting position or if the barbell bounces on a floor after Olympic lifts etc.

What is the most common value of the filter?2019-04-02T14:09:54+00:00

For most of the exercises, the most common value of the filter is 30 – 35cm.

For Clean, Snatch, Power Clean, Power Snatch the filter value of 80-90 cm is recommended

How can we speed up data collection and storage of testing or training session?2018-10-07T16:27:09+00:00

Since 2015, each Tendo Unit has been equipped with an iButton reader. The iButton reader is an RFID-like microchip which is used for automatic athlete identification in training and testing. Thanks to which data collection can be automatized.

By simply touching the iButton Reader of the microcomputer unit with an iButton chip, the Tendo Unit computer software automatically identifies the athlete in the system and collects their data under their name.

If you set a circuit training mode in the computer software you can freely interchange players at one station. Each time a player touches iButton reader with his iButton chip, the player’s data from the previous exercise set will be recalled and saved in one file, together with the new data from the last set, even if the sets were performed with different weight.

With iButton chip, there is no need to manually choose players from the system anymore. Just set your Tendo Units, make your athletes tap the iButton chip reader with their iButton chips and let the computer software to do the rest for you.

Training and testing a large number of athletes has never been easier.

Yes, it is possible to export raw data as an Excel report for each repetition.

Is it possible to make a report from measured data?2018-10-07T16:27:36+00:00

Yes, it is possible to export data to the Microsoft Excel program.

What type of batteries use the Tendo microcomputer unit?2018-10-07T16:28:07+00:00

The Tendo microcomputer unit operates with four AA-size rechargeable batteries, type NiMH, 2000 – 2500 mA.

What is a sampling frequency?2018-10-07T16:28:18+00:00

The sampling frequency is variable and depends on speed. For example for a speed of 2 m/s, the sampling frequency is 200Hz.

Do I need to calibrate the Tendo Unit?2018-10-07T16:28:26+00:00

No, there is no need to calibrate Tendo Unit. The Tendo Unit is designed so, that we established small impulses with known distance and we measure time in this small impulse and we calculate all parameters. This way we made a device which is not needed to be calibrated.
